M3BI - Senior Cassandra Database Administrator - CQL (5-10 yrs)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cassandra Database Administrator to join our team in Bengaluru. As a key member of our database administration team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of high-performance and reliable Cassandra database systems.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, performance, and security of mission-critical Cassandra deployments.

Key Responsibilities :

- Installation, configuration, and administration of Cassandra clusters.

- Performance tuning and optimization of Cassandra databases, including query optimization, schema design, and data modeling.

- Database backup and recovery procedures, including point-in-time recovery and disaster recovery planning.

- Design and implement efficient Cassandra data models, considering data distribution, replication, and read/write patterns.

- Write and optimize CQL (Cassandra Query Language) queries, including complex queries with joins and aggregations.

- Experience with data modeling tools and techniques.

- Diagnose and resolve complex database performance issues, including latency spikes, data inconsistencies, and data loss.

- Troubleshoot and resolve replication and consistency issues.

- Implement and maintain robust security measures for Cassandra clusters, including authentication, authorization, and data encryption.

- Collaborate effectively with application development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders.

- Document technical procedures and best practices.

Qualifications :

- Experience : 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Cassandra Database Administrator.

Technical Skills :

- Expert-level knowledge of Cassandra architecture, internals, and best practices.

- Strong proficiency in CQL (Cassandra Query Language), including advanced querying techniques.

- Experience with Cassandra data modeling tools and techniques.

- Experience with Cassandra performance tuning tools and techniques.

- Experience with Cassandra backup and recovery strategies, including point-in-time recovery.

- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving complex Cassandra issues.

- Experience with scripting languages (i.e., Python, Bash) for automation.

- Experience with containerization technologies (i.e., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
