Data Engineer - ETL/Data Modeling (4-7 yrs)

Responsibilities :

- Design, develop, test, and maintain ETL processes using IBM Datastage to extract, transform, and load data efficiently.

- Work with Data Warehousing concepts, ensuring structured storage, optimized queries, and efficient data retrieval.

- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning for large-scale datasets.

- Write and manage UNIX shell scripts for automation, job scheduling, and process optimization.

- Build and maintain data pipelines ensuring seamless data movement across platforms.

- Identify, analyze, and resolve data quality, performance, and ETL process issues.

- Work closely with business analysts, data architects, and cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure seamless data flow.

- Maintain coding standards, conduct peer reviews, and implement best practices for ETL and data handling.

- Create detailed documentation for ETL processes, database structures, and data models while ensuring adherence to data governance policies.

- Continuously improve ETL performance, database efficiency, and system scalability.

Requirements :

- Data Engineer with 4-6 years of experience, proficient in SQL, Datastage (ETL), DWH, and UNIX.

- Strong proficiency in SQL, including advanced SQL concepts and performance tuning techniques.

- Extensive experience with IBM Datastage ETL tool.

- Solid understanding of Data Warehousing principles and methodologies.

- Experience with UNIX/Linux operating systems and shell scripting.

- Experience with data integration and pipeline development.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g , AWS, Azure, GCP).

- Knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g , Erwin, PowerDesigner).

- Experience with data quality tools.

- Experience with Agile development methodologies
