About the Team

The team focuses on Provide the customer the most compelling Direct To Customer experience in home improvement by developing and maintaining a strong vendor network and supplier partnership within the Digital Commerce space.


Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this role is to drive operational improvements and customer consistency for the Lowe s Dropship Marketplace Business
The Marketplace Operations Manager will have single-threaded ownership of online business segments that are medium to large in size, complexity, and that typically involve multiple work streams/functional groups. This includes responsibility for managing work streams end-to-end through the planning, development, execution, and implementation stages. This role will also have people leadership responsibility for more junior level associates. Overall, this role contributes to an organizational function that plays an important role in moving the online business forward by driving ongoing improvements.
They will focus on driving projects that contribute to improvements in seller and internal performance and profitability. Functions of the role include generating dropship/Marketplace seller data analysis, driving key projects, monitoring and driving seller On-time and Fill Rate performance, inventory management, managing dropship/third party seller inquiries and building relationships with sellers and other cross functional stakeholders within Lowe s. The successful candidate will be an individual who can identify and support strategic improvement initiatives for seller performance, while being able to dive deep into areas of opportunity and develop solutions and processes towards improvements. This associate will work cross-functionally with multiple technical and operational teams within Lowe s organization and drive projects and partners to complete execution.

  • Leads the execution of an online business segment(s) that drives revenue and increases market share. Develops operational plans for the team, manages execution, and measures the KPIs.
  • Analyzes online business opportunities and develops plans to close the gap and exceed customer expectations. Provides direction to the team on research needed, actions to take, and priorities.
  • Oversees Conception, Design and development of projects and processes for team until execution, partnering with the business teams to translate business plans into tactical action items. Partners with cross-functional business and technology teams to identify and manage interdependencies. Manages risks, issues, decisions and scope changes.
  • Holds team accountable for meeting or exceeding expectations by managing milestones and deliverables and coordinating team activities.
  • Analyzes multiple sources of data (e.g. sales, customer feedback) to identify areas of optimization, create hypotheses, and define business value to ultimately drive action for improvement.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for an online business segment(s) to support cross-functional business team needs. Ensure the needs are understood, defined, prioritized, and implemented to close the gap.
  • Builds and manages relationships with diverse project stakeholders on business and tech/agile teams by communicating goals, inputs needed, outputs expected, and questions/feedback to ensure that all parties are informed and working to achieve business outcomes.
  • Develops and communicates changes or improvements to an online business segment(s) as it relates to initiatives, capabilities, and features to ensure business teams are appropriately informed.
  • Ability to work across multiple geographies and time zones in a global setup. Lead and drive projects process in global cross functional environment.
  • Provides leadership to a team of 3-5 direct reports by attracting and hiring talented individuals, setting goals, communicating clear expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback as well as meaningful developmental opportunities, and managing performance. Identifies formal and informal training opportunities to develop technical skills for the individual and team.
  • Identifies resource requirements needed from functional teams such as Core and Online Merchants, Store Operations, Pro, Supply Chain, Tech, and Finance.

Years of Experience:

  • 8+ Years relevant experience in online/retail merchandising, digital business, operations
  • 4+ years leadership experience with direct or indirect report responsibility and managing 1-2 cross-functional teams/resources


Education Qualification Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree Business Administration, Marketing, Operations, Data Analytics, or related field

Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience with digital or marketplace or category merchandising
  • Detail-oriented with strong operational mindset
  • Proven Expertise in marketplace assortment management and associates tools such as Rithum/DSCO,Mirakl,Syndigo etc.
  • Leadership experience with direct report responsibility and managing cross-functional teams
  • Experience in Customer Service, Seller Management, Customer insights, digital analytics, personalization, loyalty, or CRM is desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to converse with US based sellers via email, phone, teams calls(to be evaluated)
  • International/global workforce experience
  • Experience with SQL (Writing and running queries)
  • familiarity with Adobe Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, Superset, or other analytics platforms


Secondary Skills (desired)

  • Experience managing a business portfolio in a large retail environment
  • Account management, client serving or consulting experience
  • Expertise in development of reporting via Adobe Analytics, Power BI, Tableau, Superset, or other analytics platforms
