Position Title: Project Planner
Reports To: Senior Project Manager
Department: Production and Logistics

Position Summary:

The Project Planner is responsible for coordinating and organizing project activities, resources, and information to ensure successful execution of projects within specified timeframes and budgets. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and maintain project schedules, including tasks, milestones, and dependencies.
2. Monitor and track project progress against established timelines.
3. Generate part numbers and perform data entry for project components.
4. Collaborate with project managers and department leads to allocate resources effectively, including creating Bills of Materials for project execution.
5. Analyze and address excessive or obsolete inventory levels.
6. Identify potential risks and issues that may impact project delivery, developing mitigation plans and escalating as needed.
7. Attend project meetings to update team members and customers on progress, risks, and issues.
8. Prepare and distribute project status reports and documentation.
9. Track expenses and report on variances to manage project budgets effectively.
10. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, agreements, and change orders.
11. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in project planning and execution.
12. Foster positive relationships with clients, vendors, and team members.
13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially MS Excel.
• Experience with Epicor MRP systems is a plus.
• Ability to learn through on-the-job training processes.
• Education and Experience:
• Bachelors degree in business administration, logistics, project management, inventory management, or a related field, or a combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of experience in material planning, project planning, or a related role.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain management.
• Other Requirements:
• Ability to work in hot and cold climates.
• Flexible work schedules based on business needs.
• Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Capability to operate a computer keyboard and read a variety of materials.
• Ability to sit and stand for extended periods.
• Must be able to lift materials up to 25 lbs.
