Job Description: Shift Incharge - Operation

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Incharge - Operation to join our dynamic team at our DRI (Direct Reduced Iron) Plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the plant during their assigned shift, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining optimal equipment performance and employee safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee plant operations during the assigned shift: Monitor all production processes, including raw material handling, iron ore reduction, and product handling.
• Ensure safe and efficient plant operation: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards. Conduct regular safety inspections and briefings.
• Maintain production targets: Optimize production rates and minimize downtime. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions promptly.
• Manage shift personnel: Provide clear instructions and guidance to shift operators and technicians. Monitor employee performance and address any performance issues.
• Quality control: Ensure the quality of the produced DRI meets customer specifications. Conduct regular quality checks and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Data collection and analysis: Collect and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement. Prepare shift reports and communicate key performance indicators to management.
• Equipment maintenance: Collaborate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute planned maintenance activities. Ensure proper equipment maintenance and upkeep.
• Inventory management: Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels.1 Ensure adequate inventory levels to support production requirements.
• Continuous improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Environmental compliance: Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Diploma/Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in DRI plant operations.
• Strong knowledge of DRI production processes, including iron ore reduction, gasification, and cooling.
• Hands-on experience with plant equipment, including rotary kilns, coolers, and gas cleaning systems.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate teams.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and plant operations software.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
