Camera Tuning Specialist

Camera Calibration & Tuning:

• Modifying ISP parameters iteratively for various lighting conditions and circumstances to produce the optimum image quality
• Black level adjustment, Colour correction, Fine-tuning the image pipeline blocks
• Noise reduction, Demosaic (reconstruct colours per pixel)
• Exposure control, Expert manually tuned ISP hyperparameters
• Gamma correction, Raw data correction (remove defective pixels)
• Conduct camera ISP calibration to optimize image quality parameters including white balance, exposure, colour reproduction, sharpness, and noise reduction.
• Skillset required on mobile phone based on MediaTek, Qualcomm, Unisoc.

Image Quality Optimization:

• Work on image processing algorithms to enhance image clarity, dynamic range, color accuracy, and low-light performance.
• Tune automatic exposure (AE), automatic white balance (AWB), and automatic focus (AF) systems for optimal user experience

Performance Evaluation:

• Develop and execute comprehensive testing and validation procedures for camera systems, ensuring performance consistency across different devices and environments.
• Analyse and identify areas for improvement, providing solutions to meet the desired imaging quality standards.

Collaboration & Support:

• Collaborate with hardware engineers to understand the camera module's capabilities and limitations and provide input on sensor choices and configurations.
• Work with software teams to integrate tuning solutions with image processing pipelines and implement feedback loops for continuous improvement.

Troubleshooting & Problem Solving:

• Address issues related to image quality, sensor performance, and calibration through rigorous root cause analysis.
• Troubleshoot and resolve image quality problems related to lens, sensor, or processing algorithms.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Document tuning procedures, test results, and performance evaluations in a clear and structured manner.
• Create reports summarizing the tuning process, improvements, and recommendations for ongoing camera performance optimization.

Ideal Candidate:

• 5+ years of experience in camera calibration, tuning, or image processing, preferably within the [industry sector, e.g., mobile, automotive, etc.].
• Strong understanding of camera technologies (image sensors, lenses, and optics) & familiarity with imaging standards, including color science and image enhancement techniques.
• Hands-on experience with image quality analysis tools ima Test and test equipment.
• Knowledge of camera software frameworks (e.g., Android Camera HAL, iOS camera framework) is a plus.
