Job Description

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks: Administrator Nagios Application
Perform automation, scripting, data analysis, case investigation and routine tasks as assigned
Ability to create technical desgin documents from the requirement and can create articles so that dev & testing team can understand end to end requirement
Ablility to create, edit and troubleshoot custom scripts Ability to code procedural languages, specifically Python, Perl
Ability to indentify gaps in the existing process and can define processes to improve overall delivery
Works independently and can mentor junior team members.
Ability to work special events during the weekends (Maintenances, Disaster Recovery Exercises, Application Upgrades and Installs)
Triage, diagnose and escalate incidents to other support groups; responsible for sharing knowledge for all escalated incidents
Logs, accurately tracks and documents all work within ticketing system, Customer relationship management (CRM).
Able to resolve customer complaints via phone, email, and CRM Perform Nagios upgrades, patches and recommend process enhancements
Skill set requirements:
Expertise of programming logic and the ability to troubleshoot systems by following code
Intermediate to advanced python scripting skillset for extending core Nagios functionality and implementing plugins
Experience designing and implementing dynamic monitoring systems
Ability to multi-task
Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to work independently or with a team Write and execute SQL and Oracle queries
Strong customer service skills
Experience with code versioning tools e.g. GITLAB, GERRIT & CICD tools to improve deployment process
Strong sense of urgency to resolve or escalate issues
Experience with procedural languages such as Python, Microsoft PowerShell, PhP, Pearl, Shell, PLSQL.
Familiar with new technologies in machine learning and works to implement new solutions for monitoring.
7- 9 years experience with Nagios monitoring engine.
Experience designing and implementing monitoring alerts for extensive infrastructure environments (Hosts, Network devices and services).
Experience with the following software programs: Windows, Windows Server Environment, Microsoft Office, SQL Server, Oracle, UNIX, Sun Solaris or related programs.

Its work-life balance and i feel its team specific.

Dislikes

Currently appraisal is not up to mark. earlier it used to be 10-12% minimum but this year it was 10-12% as maximum. Job security has been a concern lately for everyone.
