Electrical Component Engineer Sr.

There is an opening for the role of Electrical Engineer, Sr. within the Component Engineering Group, Center of Excellence Group in LIGHT (Lam India Global Hardware Technology) organization.

• Identify and perform alternate/replacement/ qualify second sources by qualification, testing and validation of Electrical, Electronic and Electromechanical parts on basis of Form Fit Functional
• Initiate and lead efforts to identify and for material availability, cost reduction and reliability improvement.
• Validates designs through hand calculations / prototypes to support engineering decisions.
• Define strategy for design changes in collaboration with NPI engineers via design reviews and DFMEA.
• Liaise with Manufacturing and supply chain and work on Component related problem reports in solving and implementing.
• Provide resolution to medium complex design issues.
• Upholding the application of Preferred Parts List

• Understanding of Electrical/ Electromechanical components such as Passive, Discrete, Integrated circuits, Connectors, Cables, Fuses, Relays, Switches, RF generators, Sensors, Adapters/Filters, Cable Assemblies and all other PCBA Components etc.
• Proficient in Electrical components specification and their application.
• Knowledgeable in CAD tools for circuit design and simulation (e.g. ORCAD, ZUKEN, AutoCAD,..).
• Review and interpret component data sheets and its significance on product performance
• Proficient in translating design requirements into parameters for OEM component selection.
• Understanding of Electrical schematic, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) development and electrical component evaluation

• Knowledge of BOM Management tools like Silicon Expert and IHS
• Experience with PLM, Library management and Various Industry standards such RoHS, REACH, UL, CE, CSA, IPC, SEMI etc.
• Familiarity with manufacturing and Design environments
• Excellent oral and written communication skills including technical presentations.
• Familiar with design for serviceability, manufacturability, reliability.
• Skilled at troubleshooting

Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. On-site Flex you ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. Virtual Flex you ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
