Deputy General Manager/Assistant General Manager - Financial Controller - Pharmaceutical Firm (5-12 yrs)

JOB SUMMARY:

The role involves leading Finance Controlling for India and the Emerging Markets Commercial Organization. This position will be responsible for overseeing commercial finance functions, ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and effective budget management.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

- Provide Commercial Finance support to the International Commercial Organization.

PURPOSE (WHAT):

- Lead the Commercial Finance function for the International Commercial Organization.

SUMMARY (HOW):

- Lead and manage finance operations that support the International Commercial Organization, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and alignment with financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Finance Controllership:

- Lead the financial planning and forecasting process on an annual and quarterly basis.

- Coordinate accounting activities to close accounting periods with accurate entries.

2. Budgeting & Analysis:

- Conduct periodic reviews of SG&A (Selling, General, and Administrative expenses) versus budgets, ensuring adherence to the Delegation of Authority (DOA).

- Manage financial budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

3. Compliance:

- Ensure SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance for commercial controls.

- Ensure FCPA (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act) compliance for the International

Commercial Organization.

- Ensure regulatory compliance with NPPA/DPCO (National Pharmaceutical Pricing

- Authority / Drug Price Control Order).

4. Financial Operations Support:

- Provide commercial finance support for all India divisions and emerging market clusters.

- Oversee the preparation of monthly P&L (Profit and Loss) statements for divisions and clusters.

5. Credit & Receivables Management:

- Manage credit controls and the release of sales orders.

- Oversee the management of payables and receivables.

6. Master Price Control:

- Ensure appropriate pricing mechanisms and compliance across all markets.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Experience Required:

- Essential: 8+ years of experience in commercial finance, financial planning, and analysis, with a focus on international or emerging markets.

- Desirable: Experience in a leadership role in a multinational or large organization, especially within the healthcare, pharmaceutical, or similar industries.

Qualifications:

- Essential: MBA in Finance, Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent qualification.

- Desirable: Relevant certifications or additional training in commercial finance or accounting standards.
