Head - Legal & Compliance - Renewable Sector (10-30 yrs)

Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Head to oversee their legal and regulatory affairs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant laws, managing legal risks, and providing strategic legal guidance in areas such as contracts, disputes, mergers, and acquisitions. You will work closely with senior management, regulatory bodies, and external legal advisors to safeguard the company's interests and support its growth.

Key Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies at the state and national levels

- Lead contract negotiations, including PPAs, EPC, O&M, and joint ventures

- Provide legal support for mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships

- Advise senior management and the board on legal risks, corporate governance, and compliance issues

- Collaborate with external counsel and regulatory bodies to address legal challenges

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the renewable energy sector catering to corporate legal affairs

- Law degree with significant experience in renewable energy, corporate law, or energy sectors from a reputed Law school

- Expertise in contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance

- Strong understanding of the legal landscape in renewable energy (solar, wind, etc.)

- Proven track record in managing legal teams and providing strategic legal guidance
