Overview
We are seeking an experienced QA Lead with a strong background in manual/functional testing and a solid understanding of automation testing principles (80:20 ratio). The ideal candidate will have significant expertise in Jira, particularly in reporting, planning, strategy, and estimation, as well as strong data analytics and summarization skills. Effective storytelling and data representation abilities will be key to success in this role. The candidate should also be proficient in implementing shift-left approaches to improve quality and efficiency and be capable of guiding and mentoring the QA team to minimize defects, perform effective RCA (Root Cause Analysis), and enhance overall QA standards. Familiarity with AI models and experiential quality improvements is a plus.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a QA Lead, you will be responsible for the following:

- Lead the QA team in executing manual and functional testing processes with a focus on high quality and thorough coverage.
- Develop and implement QA strategies that emphasize shift-left testing , aiming to catch defects early in the development process.
- Utilize Jira for effective test planning, tracking, and reporting, ensuring comprehensive coverage and clear communication of testing progress.
- Apply data analytics and summarization skills to analyze testing data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Use storytelling and data representation techniques to clearly communicate test results, findings, and recommendations to various stakeholders.
- Perform and guide the team in conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to identify defect sources and areas for improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align QA activities with overall project goals and ensure efficient and effective testing.
- Mentor and coach the QA team to improve skills in both manual and light automation testing .
- Develop and enforce quality standards and best practices to enhance the QA process and reduce escape defects.
- Contribute to the development of test metrics and KPIs to measure and improve the effectiveness of testing efforts.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the QA team, leveraging new tools and techniques as appropriate.
- Support experiential quality initiatives, ensuring that the user experience is at the forefront of testing efforts.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Overall, 8-12 years of experience in Testing Applications and desktop Web/Enterprise Applications.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Extensive experience in manual/functional testing , including testing concepts, methodologies, SDLC models, and experiential quality improvements.
- Basic understanding of automation testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Karate ) with the ability to implement light automation (20% focus).
- Strong skills in Jira for creating detailed reports, planning tests, strategizing, and estimating workloads.
- Excellent data analytics and data summarization skills to analyze test results and present findings in a clear, actionable manner.
- Proficiency in storytelling and data representation to effectively communicate test results, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Expertise in shift-left testing approaches to identify defects early in the development cycle and improve overall testing efficiency.
- Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to determine the origins of defects and implement strategies for improvement.
- Strong experience in QA strategy development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of recent trends in QA and ability to adapt strategies to ensure best practices in testing.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
- Certifications such as PMP, ISTQB, and Six Sigma are a plus.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
- Bachelor s in engineering or Master s in computer applications
