It Administrator

The IT Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient operations, and providing technical support to end-users. This role involves overseeing networks, servers, security systems, and software applications to ensure the organization's IT systems function optimally and securely.

Key Responsibilities:

1. System and Network Administration
   
• Install, configure, and maintain servers, networks, and operating systems.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
• Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other critical network services.
2. Technical Support
   
• Provide technical support to end-users for hardware, software, and network-related issues.
• Manage IT helpdesk tickets, ensuring timely responses and resolutions.
• Train staff on software usage, security protocols, and IT best practices.
3. Hardware and Software Management
   
• Install, update, and maintain hardware, including servers, computers, printers, and other peripherals.
• Manage software licenses, updates, and patches for all devices and systems.
• Oversee inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.
4. Data Security and Backup
   
• Implement and maintain data backup and disaster recovery systems.
• Monitor systems for vulnerabilities and ensure security protocols are adhered to.
• Manage antivirus, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems to secure IT assets.
5. IT Infrastructure Projects
   
• Participate in planning and execution of IT infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
• Collaborate with vendors for procurement, installation, and support of IT equipment and software.
6. Compliance and Documentation
   
• Ensure IT systems comply with organizational policies and relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOC2).
• Document IT processes, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures.
7. Cloud and Virtualization Management
   
• Manage and support cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Oversee virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V to optimize resource usage.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Certifications such as CompTIA A+, CCNA, MCSE, or equivalent are preferred.
• Proven experience as an IT Administrator, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
• Hands-on experience with Windows/Linux servers, network infrastructure, and cloud services.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.

Skills Required:

• Proficiency in operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS).
• Expertise in networking (LAN/WAN, VPNs, firewalls, switches, routers).
• Experience with virtualization platforms like VMware or Hyper-V.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
