Senior Manager / Manager - Contracts & Claims

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment & Mitigation:

• Thoroughly analyze Requests for Proposals (RFPs) during the pre-bid phase, scrutinizing contractual terms and conditions, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), project management risks, and compliance requirements.
• Identify potential risks associated with project terms and incorporate suitable risk mitigation strategies in the bid response to safeguard the organizations interests.

Proactive Risk Management:

• Post-project award, take initiative to minimize risk exposure by implementing proactive measures and strategies that align with the project’s contractual obligations and financial goals.
• Contractual Communication & Liaison:
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all verbal and written communications with clients regarding contractual matters, ensuring clarity and accuracy in managing multiple projects.
• Ensure timely responses to all contractual queries from clients, consultants, and other stakeholders, providing resolutions that are in line with the contractual framework.

Contract Review & Compliance:

• Lead the comprehensive review of entire contract agreements from legal, financial, and statutory compliance perspectives before signing to ensure the organization’s liabilities and obligations are understood and managed.
• Coordinate with legal teams and internal departments to ensure all contracts adhere to corporate governance, legal standards, and statutory requirements.

Management Reporting & Contractual Oversight:

• Keep senior management informed of any deviations or variations from the contractual agreements in ongoing projects, providing detailed reports on risks, issues, and potential impacts.
• Present actionable insights to management on contract performance, ensuring alignment with the organization’s operational goals.

Contractual Negotiation & Response:

• Prepare and review responses to any contractual communications from clients, consultants, and stakeholders to protect the company’s interests and ensure the smooth progression of projects.
• Lead contract renegotiations when necessary, ensuring all changes are appropriately documented and agreed upon by all parties.

Competencies & Qualifications:

• Minimum 12 years experience in handling large-scale contracts, project management operations, and contractual negotiations in diverse sectors.
• Strong finance and legal background, with a particular focus on corporate law, risk management, and statutory compliance.
• Proficient in interpreting and applying corporate legal principles to large-scale contracts, ensuring the organization's compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex contractual issues clearly and persuasively to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Adept at maintaining strong working relationships with clients, consultants, and project teams across multiple projects.
• Demonstrated ability to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies that protect the organization from financial and legal exposure.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on delivering solutions that align with organizational objectives.

• Experience in large-scale infrastructure, government, or industrial projects.
