Designation: Medical Biller

A medical bill manages the payment process between a healthcare provider and a patient. They create invoices, submit claims, and collect payments. They also ensure that patient information is accurate and up to date. 

Responsibilities

• Excellent Communication Skills (Mandatory)
• Identify and resolve claim denials and rejections, including appealing denied claims.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
• Post payments, charges and adjustments to patient accounts accurately and efficiently
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in payments
• Proficiency in US Medical Terminologies and Prior Authorization process.
• Work with clinicians to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding
• Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other staff members to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billing purposes.
• Helping out the practice in handling miscellaneous queries relating to Insurance. This can be achieved by calling insurance and finding solution

Skills and qualifications 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of insurance guidelines, coding practices, and medical terminology
• Proficiency with computer systems, software, and calculators
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
• Problem-solving and organizational abilities
• Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality
