What you will do
The senior privacy manager in India and Metropolitan Asia is responsible for implementing and monitoring the privacy compliance program for all Company activities in the area of reference, identifying privacy risks and developing policies and procedures, training, and controls to ensure the Company is operating in compliance with applicable privacy, cybersecurity laws and internal policies.
In this role, the person will actively advise business stakeholders and help implement all projects related activities of Company in the area of reference that involve privacy and cybersecurity considerations. This includes acting as the Data protection officer where the law mandates in these markets and representing the Company towards relevant authorities in the event of data breach notification, internal and external investigations, and controls.
Core Responsibilities include:
Deploying a strategic Privacy Compliance Program to meet privacy and cybersecurity regulations in the area of reference.
For markets where directly responsible and where mandated by law, acting as the Company data protection officer towards authorities, responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring privacy compliance programs adapted to specific privacy and cybersecurity regulations and company needs.
Responsible for implementing, maintaining, and monitoring privacy compliance programs adapted to specific privacy and cybersecurity regulations and company needs in the area of reference. Monitoring any new regulations, promoting Company position towards the authorities, and making sure Company program and activities are adapted to comply at all times with such new regulations.
Providing Day to day base privacy by design support to deploy Company projects and digital engagement initiatives in compliance with privacy and cybersecurity regulations, including drafting relevant documentation, reviewing privacy provisions of contracts with partners and third parties, assisting project owners in assessing and documenting privacy risks.
Deploying privacy/cybersecurity Training and Communication plans to raise Leadership Team and stakeholders awareness and accountability.
Reviewing Incidents, breaches, and enforcement: Processing complaints and implementing remediations related to personal information processing and leakages, cybersecurity threats. Providing timely advice to notify and report to local authorities data breaches.
What we are looking for
Requirements/Competencies
Minimum 8 years experience working in legal and/or privacy legal field with consumer or FMCG background preferred
Strong knowledge of the data protection, privacy and cybersecurity requirements and sound knowledge of compliance management involving the collection, use and processing of personal data in India and/or Metropolitan Asia
Experience with developing and implementing privacy programs, policies and procedures, in an environment that demands a sound understanding of the need to balance complex legal/regulatory/public policy issues
Ability to positively influencing decisions and collaborate with business partners, using discernment and partnership/collaboration to assist the business to achieve its goals and objectives in accordance with Privacy Principles and Policies
Demonstrates excellent business judgment, ability to independently take decisions and develop solutions that generate value through partnerships while ensuring compliance
Preferred Requirements/Competencies:
Legal background and privacy expertise acquired in law firms or similar MNC
Project management and stakeholder management skills
Familiar with consumer technology, social and digital advertising platforms
Ability to work independently and effectively across all levels of a matrixed organization
Able to demonstrate and drive high ethical, legal & compliance standards
Ability to deal with ambiguity, consider new business models and approaches, and simplify issues for clients
Excellent interpersonal and listening skills. Ability to speak up, present and actively participate in business and privacy related discussions
