Job Description

Summary of role :

1. Head of Operations & Maintenance is responsible for the strategic leadership, planning, and execution of all operations and to create and implements best maintenance vision, strategy, policies, process, and procedure to aid and improve business performance.

2. Ensures continuous, safe, and efficient performance of all assets and systems, leading teams to achieve operational excellence and cost-effectiveness.

3. Proven track record / experience in leading & executing Operation & Maintenance services in Solar Glass Manufacturing Plant at scale.

4. Collaborate with project engineers, CES team, operation managers, Maintenance departments on the various layers of the engineering and planning activities for the development of business platform/applications.

5. Conversant with various engineering/ Maintenance practices in Solar glass / Glass Plant & utility.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership:

Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance production efficiency and reduce costs. Oversee daily operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and production standards.

2. Maintenance Management:

Lead the maintenance team in developing and executing preventive and corrective maintenance plans for all equipment. Ensure that all machinery and equipment operate at peak performance to minimize downtime.

3. Process Optimization:

Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in manufacturing operations. Utilize data analysis and performance metrics to drive operational excellence.

4. Team Management:

Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of operations and maintenance professionals. Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the workforce.

5. Budget Management:

Manage the operations and maintenance budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Analyse financial performance and implement cost-control measures as needed.

6. Safety and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, creating a safe workplace for all employees. Develop and enforce safety protocols and training programs for staff.

7. Collaboration:

Work closely with quality, production, and engineering teams to align operational goals and objectives. Collaborate with suppliers and service providers to ensure the availability of necessary resources and equipment.

8. To formulate objectives for the department in consonance with corporate philosophy and IMS policy.

9. Ensure Compliance, adherence to company safety policies and procedures.

Key Skills and Competencies:

- Proven experience in leading the Operation & Maintenance stream of manufacturing businesses (experience in PV Glass manufacturing preferred)

- Strong Engineering management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stake holders.

- PMP (Project Management Professional), CMRP (Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional) and Lean Six Sigma

Key Attributes (Experience & Qualifications):

Minimum Experience (Years): 15 years of Core Experience in glass operations & maintenance with significant achievements in the same field.

Qualification:

Master's / bachelor's degree in mechanical/Instrumentation/Electrical or relevant field

- 8 years of experience in Operation & Maintenance of large PV Glass Plant (rolled solar) having both glass manufacturing and processing.

- Knowledge of tempering thin glass (<2mm), function of waste heat recovery and waste gas cleaning and handling of utility & power system is desired.

- Hands-on experience with 1.6mm thick and extra-large (G12+) glass will be an added advantage.

- Understanding best practices of Operations & Maintenance, bench marking and proven track record to achieve it.

- Strong leadership, communication skills and ability to explain system and processes with team and management.

- Time and project management skills, with the capability to prioritize and multitask as needed.
