Job Description

Job Title: Key Account Manager (Modern Trade & General Trade)


Location: Kolkata, Mumbai, Ahmedabad


We are seeking a passionate and results-oriented Key Account Manager to join our consumer goods company. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with key retail partners, driving sales growth, and contributing to the success of the company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships: Build and maintain strong partnerships with Modern Trade, standalone, and retail clients by understanding their sales objectives and aligning them with our company product offerings.
  • Strategic account planning: Develop strategic account plans to achieve sales targets, increase market share, and ensure exceptional service to Modern Trade accounts.
  • Identify upselling opportunities: Work with the marketing team to create customized promotions and marketing strategies for retail partners.
  • Customer advocacy: Act as a customer advocate by gathering feedback and ensuring prompt resolution of any issues or concerns raised from the market.
  • Market analysis: Stay updated on consumer trends and competitor activities, providing actionable insights to improve business strategies.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with internal teams such as field staff, supply chain, and product development to ensure seamless and timely product distribution.
  • Distributor network: Leverage a strong distributor network and maintain relationships with key contacts in your respective regions.
  • Urban and rural coverage: Be prepared to work across both urban and rural areas within the assigned regions.
  • Industry knowledge: Have a good understanding of Modern Trade chains, and Home Hygiene products, and maintain contacts with Category Managers or National Category Managers.
  • Institutional Sales: Be ready to handle institutional sales independently if required in your region.
  • Data-driven decision-making: Use Excel and BI tools to make informed, data-driven decisions and optimize sales strategies.
