Crane Mechanical Maintenance

Role & responsibilities

• Perform regular maintenance and inspections on cranes to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on cranes.
• Repair or replace faulty crane components such as hoists, pulleys, winches, motors, and electrical systems.
• Conduct safety checks on crane rigging, lifting mechanisms, and load-bearing components.
• Test and calibrate crane systems to ensure proper functionality.
• Respond to emergency breakdowns and repair cranes to minimize downtime.
• Maintain records of all inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to complete complex repairs or system overhauls.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and operational standards related to crane usage.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints to guide repairs and maintenance.
• Perform lubrication and cleaning tasks to prevent wear and tear on mechanical parts.
• Assist in training junior mechanics or other team members when necessary.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and workshop areas to ensure proper functioning and cleanliness.
• Monitor crane usage and provide recommendations to improve crane performance and longevity.
