Oracle Database Administrator (6-9 yrs)

Job Description :

Key Responsibilities :

- Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users, roles, and assign privileges).

- Maintain standby databases, in both local and remote locations.

- Perform daily routine activities: database backups (Hot backups and RMAN), exports, and imports.

- Manage database space and performance.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

- Advanced Backup and Recovery using Oracle's RMAN software (offline/online for recovery in a production environment).

- Configure and manage Recovery Manager (RMAN) on Oracle 10g and above.

- Manage archive log shipping to the Standby site for production databases.

- Analyze database performance and identify bottlenecks.

- Implement performance tuning strategies to improve database response time and resource utilization.

- Monitor database performance and proactively address any issues.

- Oracle 9i, 10g, 11g Server Installation on UNIX, Solaris, and Windows platforms.

- Participate in database upgrades and migrations.

- Resolve User related queries in Production and Test Databases.

- Communicate with other teams and clients for their queries and issues.

- Escalate problems internally and externally as necessary to meet SLAs.

Required Skills :

Must Have :

- Performance Tuning, RMAN, RAC database.

- Minimum 6+ years of experience in Oracle Production DBA.

- Experience in the banking domain is preferable.

- Oracle Production database administration with knowledge of Oracle 10g, 11g databases, sql loader, RMAN, Physical Standby Databases, Dataguard, ASM, RAC databases.

- Should have knowledge of Oracle Database Performance Tuning.

- Backup and Recovery methodology using Hot backups and RMAN backups.

- Working knowledge to work with Oracle support.

- Should have working knowledge of logical backups and restore using data pump utility & normal EXP / IMP utility.

- Shell Scripting knowledge on Unix platforms, especially on Solaris.

- Basic knowledge of Oracle Applications Server 11i.

Certifications : Oracle OCA / OCP (Preferably Oracle 11g Database) - Preferred
