Job Description

The Associate Manager Indirect Taxation will be responsible for managing and overseeing all indirect tax-related matters of the organization. This includes compliance with GST, VAT, customs duties, and other relevant indirect taxes. The role requires staying updated on regulatory changes, ensuring timely filing of tax returns, and managing audits and litigation related to indirect taxes. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of tax laws and the ability to liaise with tax authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, VAT, and other indirect tax returns.
Prepare and review tax computations, reconciliations, and reports.
Manage the process for availing input tax credits and refunds.
Ensure compliance with applicable tax laws and regulatory requirements.
Provide advisory support on indirect tax matters to various business units.
Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies for business operations and transactions.
Monitor changes in tax regulations and assess their impact on the business.
Handle indirect tax assessments, audits, and investigations conducted by tax authorities.
Prepare and submit responses to tax notices and queries from authorities.
Assist in representing the company in tax-related disputes and appeals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (finance, procurement, legal) to ensure tax compliance.
Liaise with external consultants, advisors, and tax authorities for resolving tax issues.
Prepare and maintain detailed tax records, schedules, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Regularly update management on tax liabilities, opportunities, and risks.
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation in tax reporting and compliance.
Implement best practices in tax accounting and documentation to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Qualifications

Education :

Bachelors degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
CA/CS/ICWA or relevant professional qualification in taxation.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
