Job Description

The Associate Manager - Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role will also focus on creating a safe and healthy work environment, minimizing environmental impacts, and promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

o Develop, implement, and maintain the companys EHS programs and policies.

o Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to health, safety, and environmental protection.

o Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.

o Design and deliver training programs on EHS policies, safety procedures, and environmental management.

o Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees at all levels in EHS initiatives.

o Ensure that employees and contractors are aware of safety and environmental standards.

o Regularly inspect workplaces, facilities, and equipment to identify unsafe conditions and ensure compliance with safety standards.

o Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences.

o Maintain accurate records of safety-related incidents and follow up on corrective actions.

o Implement environmental protection programs aimed at minimizing waste, pollution, and resource consumption.

o Ensure the proper disposal of hazardous materials and chemicals.

o Monitor air and water quality, noise levels, and other environmental impacts within the organizations operations.

o Stay up to date with EHS laws and regulations and ensure the company remains compliant.

o Prepare and submit necessary reports to regulatory agencies.

o Assist with EHS audits, both internal and external.

o Develop and update emergency response procedures.

o Lead emergency drills, and ensure that staff are trained in emergency protocols.

o Coordinate with local emergency services in the event of an actual emergency.

o Promote sustainability initiatives, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and resource conservation.

o Work with the management team to identify and implement sustainability improvements.

o Collaborate with other departments, including Operations, HR, and Facilities, to ensure integrated EHS management.

Communicate EHS performance, challenges, and initiatives to senior management and employees.

Key Qualifications:

Education : Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree in EHS or related discipline is a plus.
