Job Description- Sr Engineer/Astt. Manager Heavy Fabricated Gates

Job Summary:

Engineers in design typically work in an office setting, reviewing specifications and other data to develop product layouts which suit the site requirements. Checking and approving the detailed drawings and Bill of Materials for production and maintaining the schedule as per the production plan will be major responsibility

Location of the job is at Indore (MP)

Job responsibilities:

- Executing the process of engineering commitments in accordance with scope, schedule, budget and procedures to ensure successful project completion.

- Technical review of tender specifications and layout drawings.

- To ensure product compliance to standards and customer specifications.

- To discuss deviations in the specification with marketing department.

- To carry out design calculations and analysis for given performance parameters

- Familiar and knowledge of codes/standards i.e., AWWA-561/62/63; IS-4622/23; IS-5620; IS-9349; BS-7775 and ETL-584, AISC latest edition, IS-800/808; ACI-314 etc.,

- Check and approve drawings and revisions.

- Check and approve Bill of Materials

- Maintaining good working relationships with the internal stakeholders, including the management team, and clients.

- Being an active participant in technical design reviews and calculation checks.

- Establishing and implementing improvements to existing methods, procedures and tool sets.

- Measurement, monitoring and improvement of functional and individual performance based on KPI

- Develop systems for tracking submittals, approvals, manufacturing drawings and bill of material issue against orders and report the progress to manager

- Analysis of site issues and resolution

- Implementing 3D CAD and ERP system

Skill set requirements

- Experience with mechanical design work and knowledge in manufacturing processes

- Ability to read and interpret blue print documents

- Knowledge and experience with utilization of Mathcad/CAD/3-D Modeling Software

- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel

- Good sketching and concept generation skills

- Ability to understand complex mathematical relationships that underpin mechanical analysis

Qualification requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from recognized institution.

- CAD (3D and 2D) and SAP/ERP system working knowledge

- Previous experience with Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Experience

- A minimum of 5-10 years of professional experience of working in an organization designing and manufacturing fabricated water control gates, and at least 5 years of relevant experience in the following:

• Design of gates and mechanical operating systems including (roller gates, radial gates, crest gates and stoplogs.)
• Experience of new product introduction and product development.
• Experience with SAP/ERP system working will be considered an asset.

- Experience with hoist design (wire rope hoists, hydraulic hoists, gantry cranes),

- Proficiency with Computer Design Tools (Mathcad, Solidworks, Draft sight) will be considered an asset

- Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) programs

- Solid experience in the preparation of reports and specifications is required

- Strong client focus and a desire to achieve results including the ability to manage multiple priorities and time lines

- Site and commissioning experience will be considered an asset
