Major Areas of Responsibilities

• Develop innovative product concepts that solve customer pain points and market needs by collaborating closely with both internal teams (design, engineering, etc.) and external teams (market analysts, consumer research, etc.).
• Perform comprehensive assessments utilizing a range of engineering tools (DFMEA, FEA, function analysis, prototyping, and physical testing) to verify novel ideas at the component and system levels, guaranteeing their viability, dependability, and safety.
• Adapt product offerings to customer needs while taking use case and market research results into account. Establish precise budgetary goals and make sure the finished design satisfies end-user requirements and corporate goals.
• Actively engage with industry leaders, academic institutions, and open innovation platforms to bring new perspectives and technologies into the development process, ensuring the product benefits from the latest industry trends and external expertise.
• Design and build rapid prototypes to quickly evaluate concepts at both the component and system levels. Use feedback to validate design intent, test performance, and refine designs based on iterative evaluations.
• Present and communicate designs clearly using tools like CAD models, Keynote presentations, and in front of groups, ensuring clarity in both technical and non-technical settings.
• Identify potential risks in the design and development process, propose solutions that highlight the advantages and challenges of the designs, and develop strategies to mitigate potential development risks.
• Work with the marketing team to ensure the product’s design aligns with market needs, strategic goals, and business objectives. Develop a compelling value proposition for the product that resonates with target audiences.
• Use simulation tools to test and optimize product designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness. Simulate various scenarios to ensure the product meets expectations before moving to production.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements in existing products. Implement strategies that enhance product value, ensuring that the product evolves with market trends and consumer feedback.
• Contribute to the technology roadmap to identify future trends, innovations, and opportunities in both business and technology, maintaining the competitiveness and innovation of product offerings over time.

The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in interdisciplinary engineering principles and a deep understanding of consumer product development. This engineer will be responsible for defining and designing innovative system-level approaches to address fundamental consumer problems, while focusing on simplicity, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.

Essential Qualification: BE/M Tech/MS Mechanical

Desired Qualification: BE / M Tech/ MS Mechatronics

Experience: Minimum 3 years

Industry Preference: Appliance, Consumer durable, Television, Automotive
