JOB Summary :

- Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and maintenance of all Database systems including Production, Development and Test server environments

Key Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle Database software across various platforms.

- Manage database users, roles, and privileges.

- Create and manage database objects (tables, indexes, views, procedures, etc.

- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user authentication, authorization, and data encryption.

- Monitor database performance and identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.

- Tune SQL queries and PL/SQL code for optimal performance.

- Implement and maintain Oracle Data Guard configurations, including physical and logical standby databases.

- Manage data guard switchover and failover procedures.

- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities for Oracle databases.

- Develop and implement robust backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.

- Perform regular database backups and ensure data integrity.

- Restore databases from backups as needed.

- Perform regular database maintenance tasks, including space management, statistics collection, and index rebuilds.

- Monitor database resource utilization (CPU, memory, disk I/O).

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues.

- Provide technical support to application developers and other IT teams.

- Collaborate with application teams to optimize database performance for their applications.

- Participate in on-call support rotations to ensure 24/7 database availability.

Qualifications & Experience :

Education :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience :

- 3-5 years of hands-on experience administering Oracle databases in a production environment.

Skills :

Essential :

- Strong understanding of Oracle Database architecture and internals.

- Expertise in Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.

- Experience with Oracle Data Guard and other high availability solutions.

- Experience with RMAN for backup and recovery.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable :

- Experience with Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters).

- Experience with Oracle GoldenGate.

- Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Shell).

- Oracle certifications (OCA, OCP)
