Key skills for the job
Qualification & Experience:
- PG/master's in science or social science (psychology, sensory science, market research, physical sciences) and/ Or Management Exposure.
- Experience 5 - 7 years in a category R&D function, preferably including consumer insights and sensory science experience of at least 2-3 years.
- Sound understanding of Sensory and consumer testing techniques.
- Digital & online ways of meetings/consumer connect fluency
- Goal oriented & entrepreneurial outlook with positive attitude.
- Ability to work and collaborate with cross-functional teams - Formulation and marketing team. Strong Communication skills and influencing abilities.
- Very good presentation and data synthesis skills. Fluency in English and 1-2 regional languages gives an edge. Knowledge of new digital / AI based tools that helps in presentation making and data analysis would be an added advantage.
Key Deliverables of the Role:
- Self-assess/evaluate products.
- Conduct Sensory Assessments for firm categories
- Sensory and consumer testing protocol development
- Data assimilation and basic level analysis/ diagnostics
- Execute study designs in consumer & sensory studies
- Execute qualitative consumer research: Descriptive Profiling /Focus Groups, one on one interviews, Discrimination Testing.
- Routinely conduct/ participate in-house sensory & olfaction
- Providing sensory support for delivering consumer preferred products
- Conduct competitive benchmarking & provide category insights
- Have an in depth understanding of consumers (their habits and attitudes, drivers), category, brands, competitive environment to generate, develop and support insights that drives superior products.
- Creating insightful, topic-based product testing reports.
- Conduct Qualitative research (online & F2F).
- Expand and evolve consumer understanding and sensory evaluation capability within the team
- Partner with internal/external partners to deploy best practice and new consumer/sensory methodologies to projects, where applicable
- Keep abreast of development in new techniques & methodologies
- Ensuring full compliance with safety and ethical standards for product testing.
