Job Description: General Manager Sales &

Marketing (Solar Industry)

Position Overview:

The General Manager – Sales & Marketing will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing marketing strategies, and expanding the company’s market share in the solar energy sector. The role requires strong leadership, business development skills, and a deep understanding of the solar industry, including photovoltaic (PV) systems, solar panels, inverters, and related solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales Management:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
  • Identify and establish relationships with key clients, EPC contractors, distributors, and

government agencies.

  • Drive B2B and B2C sales for solar products, including rooftop and utility-scale solutions.
  • Monitor sales performance and develop corrective actions to improve results.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers and channel partners.

Marketing & Business Development:

  • Create and execute marketing plans to enhance brand awareness and generate leads.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for new products and services.
  • Plan and oversee digital marketing, social media campaigns, and promotional activities.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and mentor the sales and marketing team to achieve business objectives.
  • Set KPIs and performance targets for the team and monitor progress.
  • Provide training and development programs to enhance team capabilities.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and customer-centricity.

Strategic Planning & Execution:

  • Develop long-term sales and marketing strategies aligned with company goals.
  • Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances.
  • Collaborate with R&D and product teams to align sales strategies with product offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, policies, and quality standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a

Related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the solar or renewable

Energy industry.

  • Strong understanding of solar PV systems, net metering, and government policies.
  • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and business expansion.
  • Experience in managing large teams and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
