DevOps Engineer

Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes, containerizing applications, and maintaining cloud infrastructure. The candidate should also have a strong grasp of Linux systems, AWS cloud services, Docker, and networking concepts to ensure the reliability and scalability of all environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Automate build, test, and deployment processes for containerized and non-containerized applications.
- Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based servers.
- Write and optimize shell scripts for automation and operational tasks.
- Containerize applications using Docker and maintain Docker images.
- Set up and manage Docker registries for efficient image distribution.
- Manage AWS services, including EC2, RDS, S3, and IAM.
- Set up and maintain secure, scalable, and reliable production environments in AWS.
- Work with cloud networking concepts such as VPC, subnets, and security groups.
- Configure and troubleshoot networking-related issues in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Ensure secure connectivity between environments (e.g., QA, UAT, and Production).
- Implement load balancing, firewalls, and VPN setups for secure access.
- Automate database backup processes using Jenkins and other tools.
- Perform database restore operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Develop scripts for environment provisioning and configuration management.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) solutions for consistent deployments.
- Set up monitoring tools for performance and error tracking.
- Implement security best practices for servers, containers, and cloud resources.
- Work closely with development, QA, and IT teams to streamline processes.
- Provide on-call support for critical system issues when necessary.
Required Skills:
- Strong experience with Linux systems, including command-line tools and system administration.
- Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, and VPC.
- Hands-on experience with Docker for application containerization and image management.
- Knowledge of networking concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and DNS.
- Expertise in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, including backup and restore operations.- Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Hands-on experience with Git or other version control systems.

Preferred Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree in any stream (e.g., Computer Science, IT, Engineering, etc.).
- 3+ years of experience in DevOps or related roles.
- Familiarity with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
- Understanding of security best practices in Linux, cloud, and containerized environments.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus, or CloudWatch.
