Production Manager For A Furniture Company

Role & responsibilities :

1. Production Planning & Execution

• Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
• Allocate resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, efficiently.
• Ensure optimal production workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize waste.

2. Quality Control & Assurance

• Enforce quality control measures at every stage of production.
• Implement ISO, Six Sigma, or other quality standards to ensure high-quality products.
• Address defects, rework, and customer complaints to maintain quality consistency.

3. Workforce Management

• Supervise production staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
• Ensure safety compliance and create a safe working environment.
• Motivate workers to enhance productivity and maintain high morale.

4. Inventory & Supply Chain Management

• Oversee raw material procurement and stock levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
• Coordinate with suppliers for on-time delivery of materials.
• Work with warehouse and logistics teams for smooth distribution.

5. Cost Control & Budgeting

• Monitor production costs and ensure they align with company budgets.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
• Reduce waste and improve efficiency through lean manufacturing techniques.

6. Machinery & Equipment Maintenance

• Ensure all machines and tools are in proper working condition.
• Schedule regular maintenance and address breakdowns promptly.
• Implement new technology to enhance productivity.

7. Compliance & Safety Regulations

• Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations (OSHA, ISO, etc.).
• Conduct regular safety training and inspections.
• Ensure workplace safety to prevent accidents and injuries.

8. Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Introduce new manufacturing techniques and process improvements.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements.
• Encourage innovation in furniture design and production efficiency.

9. Coordination with Other Departments

• Collaborate with designers to ensure feasibility of furniture designs.
• Work with the sales team to align production with market demands.
• Communicate with logistics and distribution teams to ensure on-time delivery.

10. Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare production reports for senior management.
• Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) like productivity, defect rates, and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of production data and inventory.
