Job Description
We are looking for an experienced AVP of Application & Product Development to lead the development, enhancement, and delivery of healthcare applications and digital products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare technology and expertise in RFI/RFP management , product strategy, and delivery operations. This leadership role demands a strategic mindset and the ability to manage cross-functional teams, ensuring high-quality product development and alignment with healthcare standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Application & Product Development Leadership:
- Lead the end-to-end development of healthcare applications and digital products from conception through delivery.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to define roadmaps, technical specifications, and product features .
- Ensure all applications and solutions are HIPAA-compliant and meet regulatory standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
- RFI/RFP Management:
- Manage and respond to RFIs, RFPs , and proposals in collaboration with business and technical teams.
- Develop and present technical solutions and cost estimates to potential clients and partners.
- Work closely with pre-sales teams to demonstrate product capabilities to customers.
- Healthcare Product Strategy & Innovation:
- Define and execute a product strategy aligned with healthcare industry trends and customer needs.
- Identify opportunities for innovation in healthcare delivery (e.g., AI in diagnostics, mobile health apps).
- Drive integration of third-party healthcare platforms and ensure interoperability.
- Cloud and Technology Management:
- Lead cloud-based development initiatives using platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Ensure scalable architectures for healthcare solutions and seamless integration with legacy systems.
- Stakeholder and Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, vendors, and partners to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Engage with clients, regulators, and senior leadership to align product development with business goals.
- Team Leadership & Delivery Management:
- Build and manage high-performing development teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Manage budgets, timelines, risks , and delivery milestones, ensuring successful project execution.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
- Track and report key KPIs , product performance, and project progress to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement by gathering user feedback and implementing enhancements.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 15+ years of experience in application development, product management , or delivery, with at least 10 years in the healthcare domain .
- Strong expertise in RFI/RFP management and building technical and business proposals.
- Experience with healthcare applications
- Cloud and Technology Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and microservices architecture .
- Familiarity with API integrations, interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), and data privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Project & Product Management Skills:
- Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, or SAFe frameworks for product development.
- Experience in managing budgets, risks, and multi-vendor environments .
- Strong skills with tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, or ServiceNow .
- Vendor and Client Management:
- Proven ability to manage third-party vendors and negotiate service-level agreements (SLAs).
- Strong communication skills for engaging with clients, regulators, and senior leadership .
- Soft Skills:
- Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to drive innovation.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics , or a related field.
- PMP, SAFe, or Agile certifications are a plus.
