Risk Identification : Identify potential operational risks across different products, functions, processes, and systems of the organization.
Risk Mitigation and Control : Designing controls, ensuring compliance with internal policies, and monitoring and testing the effectiveness of controls in reducing risks.
Development of Policies: Formulating and implementing risk management policies, procedures, strategies, and controls to govern risk-taking activities
Incident Management : Investigating operational risk incidents including internal/external/vendor fraud, process failures, system outages etc.
Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSAs) : Coordinating and facilitating regular self-assessments to ensure that all business units and functions are aware of their risks and controls, and that these assessments are regularly updated.
Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) : Developing, monitoring, and updating KRIs to measure risk exposures and provide early warning of potential issues.
Business Continuity Planning (BCP) : Overseeing the organizations BCP to ensure that operations can continue in the event of disruptions. Conducting BIA and finalizing critical functions and IT applications in the organization. Regularly testing and reviewing the plan to ensure its effectiveness.
Vendor Risk Management : Assessing and monitoring the operational risks associated with third-party vendors, including financial and IT outsourcing arrangements, to ensure that service delivery and quality are not compromised.
Regulatory Compliance : Collaborating with internal functions to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management and regulatory compliance.
Data Protection and Cybersecurity : Collaborating with the IT department to identify and manage risks related to data security, privacy, and cyber threats.
Risk Culture and Awareness : Fostering a strong risk culture within the organization. Conducting risk training and awareness programs for employees to ensure they understand their role in managing operational risks.
Risk Reporting : Creating regular risk reports for senior management and the board, highlighting key risk exposures, control weaknesses, and incidents.
Ad Hoc Risk Management Projects: Collaborating with the Chief Risk Officer on ad hoc risk management projects and initiatives
