Role Overview:

- We are seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Funds Management to join our team.

- The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of various types of funds, their structure, and segregation.

- They will play a critical role in guiding the team to identify key data fields for curation on our platform and recommend appropriate data sources.

- This position demands a thorough understanding of fund operations, regulations, and reporting, with a strong focus on accuracy, comprehensiveness, and usability of curated data.

Key Responsibilities:

Expertise in Funds:

- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of different types of funds, including but not limited to:

- Mutual Funds.

- Hedge Funds.

- Private Equity.

- Venture Capital.

- Sovereign Wealth Funds.

- Pension Funds.

- ETFs and Index Funds.

- Analyze how funds are segregated based on structure, asset classes, risk levels, and investment objectives.

Data Field Curation:

- Identify and define important fields to be curated on the platform (Fund Name, NAV, AUM, Expense Ratio, Asset Allocation, Performance Metrics, etc.)

- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure fields align with user requirements and industry standards.

- Recommend categorizations, hierarchies, and metadata for better organization and accessibility of fund data.

Data Source Identification:

- Research and recommend reliable data sources for curating fund-related information, such as:

- Regulatory filings (SEC, AMFI, etc, Fund prospectuses and fact sheets.)

- Data aggregators and financial platforms.

- Establish partnerships or agreements with credible data providers to enhance platform quality.

Team Guidance and Collaboration:

- Act as a mentor and knowledge resource for the team on fund-related matters.

- Provide insights and training to ensure the team understands the intricacies of fund structures and curation.

- Work closely with product, data, and engineering teams to incorporate curated data into platform features.

Regulatory and Compliance Awareness:

- Ensure data curation aligns with relevant regulations and compliance standards in various jurisdictions.

- Stay updated on evolving regulatory landscapes impacting fund data and guide the team accordingly.

Performance Monitoring:

- Review and improve the accuracy and relevance of curated fund data regularly.

- Provide feedback on platform improvements for better data accessibility and user experience.

Qualifications and Skills:

Educational Background:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Certifications like CFA, CAIA, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Experience:

- 3+ years of experience in fund management, financial research, or related fields.

- Proven expertise in fund structures, reporting, and regulatory frameworks.

Technical Skills:

- Familiarity with financial data tools and platforms (Bloomberg, Morningstar, Refinitiv, or similar).

- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Excel, SQL, or BI tools).

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
