Purpose of the job

• To be an integral team member of the equity strategy team within Global Research:
• Work closely with senior analysts in the equity strategy team
• Has a good understanding of local equity indices/benchmarks and GICS/ICB sectors. Knowledge on EM stock markets would be added advantage
• Able to generate a theme based on the current macro-economic scenarios and its investment implications.
• Perform detailed analysis and should be able to give recommendation on the countries/sectors. Should be able to articulate thoughts in a report. Writes research reports which are clear, consistent, and non-consensual and supported
• Maintain and update various databases
• Monitor models and summarize market conditions and opportunities
• Contributing to research publications
• Work on requests in a timely and accurate manner

Skill Set

• Strong domain knowledge on equity markets and understanding of GICS/ICB sectors
• Strong technical skills are required in the following areas: a) analysing countries/sector by doing cross sectional and time series analysis, b) advanced financial modelling, c) writing research reports
• Capable of analysing current macroeconomic and market scenarios to identify trends, develop thematic insights and produce comprehensive reports
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work independently; comfortable in dealing with huge data sets
• Good working understanding of financials databases
• Hands on experience in MS excel, and VBA would be plus
• Flexible approach to workload and demands of the role
