Urgent : Global Operations Director / Senior Director @ Mumbai & US facilities

The Micro Motion Division is a $150 Mn global business, with 1,400 associates within the $2B Automation & Motion Control (AMC) Segment & seeking a Global Director of Operations. This is a critical role to both create & drive a growth-focused operations strategy.
Summary:
- This role will lead operations across plants located in United States & India with a strong execution mindset, as well as be a key member of the Division leadership team.
- Within each site, this leadership position will drive the discipline of SQDC (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost-Competitiveness), to allow the division to grow top line revenue growth & bottom-line profitability. The leader will develop & implement long & short-term strategic plans to meet Division Targets to Improve (TTIs), drive significant plant Key Performance Indicator (KPI) improvements, partnering closely with the site leadership teams while deploying the application of the Business System , which includes 80/20 methodologies (Pareto Principle) & Continuous Improvement.
Professional Experience/Qualifications:
- Has advanced degree (MS Engineering, PG Diploma / MBA, etc.)
- About 25 years , progressive experience
- Multi-Site Management Experience
- Global Management Experience
- General Management Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Operations:
- Work with Division & Segment leaders to drive Operations Strategic roadmap to address cost & manufacturing efficiencies.
- Actively evaluate footprints & work with leadership to evaluate operations efficiencies & scalability with a mindset to overserve A customers.
- Lead strategic projects related to operations with a high focus on execution excellence.
- Create synergies through key performance indicators within manufacturing operations to maximize profit & exceed profit plan targets in manufacturing.
- Actively participate in Strategic Plan for the division to bring in operations perspective & execution strategies.
- Lead budgeting exercise for operations sites, expansion/consolidation projects, including monitoring & controlling costs.
Operational Excellence & Effective Problem Solving:
- Lead the Division operations team to deliver on Annual Operating Plan (AOP), monthly, quarterly, & annually.
- Set & achieve short & long-term SQDCG (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost Competitiveness, Growth) & financial objectives by implementing a strategic vision that is broken into actionable strategies & tactics. Direct activities across all plants, providing leadership to Production, Quality, Purchasing, Human Resources & Finance. Knows what good looks like & can coach & develop a leadership team.
- Ensures accountability & enables the predictability of the outcomes of each plant. Determine root cause of delivery, quality or other issues quickly & effectively put countermeasures in place to support.
- Lead & drive the Business System which includes 80/20 & Continuous Improvement. for the Division. Skilled & experienced in decomposing a strategic vision into actionable strategies & tactics, which can be cascaded to every manufacturing facility. Drive a CI mindset, with clear future factory visions, to significantly improve productivity & efficiency across all plants & drive employee engagement.
- Establish & sustain strong plant floor visual & daily management, GEMBA culture, problem solving methodologies & lean flow.
- Develops controls & critically reviews results of operation in reference to planned objectives.
P&L Leadership - Business Partnering:
- Ability to work as a member of the leadership team to develop & communicate a future vision for the business.
- Partners with VP/GM & leadership team on the overall strategy of the business, supports the establishment of an X-matrix, & drives policy deployment initiatives, aligned to operations with urgency & a high say/do.
- Responsible for synthesizing action plans, timelines & budgets for project & product goals & adjusting these plans accordingly to effectively respond to changing demands of the business.
Talent Management:
- Develop a high-performance team by engaging, coaching & developing team members, & by driving accountability & ownership at all levels. Builds a team where all site leaders are top talent, with a strong say/do & continuous improvement mindset.
- Serve as an advocate for our top talent, building strong succession plans to enable increased velocity, be a champion of promoting diversity & inclusion in & across the organization.
