RESPOSIBILITIES:

• Develop a detailed understanding of fuel system hardware and associated controls algorithms
• Co-ordinate and support controls and diagnostic teams in the development of new algorithms, to perform tuning process and reviews using design for six sigma practices per Engineering Standard Work.
• Perform testing on benches, fuel system rigs, test cells and vehicles to assure the fuel systems controls & diagnostic software is functioning properly and/or to duplicate problems found by customers.
• Analyze the test cell/field data provided by testing engineers/engine customers provide detailed reports on the issues reported
• Support global engine program teams for creating and updating certification documents in the Cummins standard format as needed by various regulatory agencies.
• Write and enter requirements related to controls & diagnostic algorithms for a high pressure common rail fuel system into Integrity.

SKILLS FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL

• 4 to 6 years industry experience or equivalent academic experience in analyzing and designing automotive control systems
• Troubleshooting/Working level experience on mechanical, electrical, and software related issues on electronics benches, engine dynamometer test cells, and vehicles.
• Knowledge of classical and modern control theory.
• Good communication and presentation skills required for documenting algorithm development and tuning work and reporting results in a clear and concise manner.
• Fluency in both C and Matlab/Simulink is required for analyzing/reviewing/specifying algorithm design.
