Job Description: Accountant for Residential Projects

Position Summary:
The Accountant for Residential Projects will be responsible for managing all financial aspects related to residential construction projects, including budgeting, cost tracking, invoicing, and financial reporting. The role ensures financial accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial statements to support project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Accounting:
  
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations for residential projects.
• Monitor project budgets, expenses, and forecasts to ensure cost control.
• Prepare and maintain project-wise Profit & Loss statements.
• Financial Reporting:
  
• Generate accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Prepare cost variance analysis and highlight key discrepancies to project heads.
• Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts and funding requirements.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable:
  
• Verify vendor bills, contractors' invoices, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor and reconcile receivables, including customer payments and follow-ups.
• Ensure proper documentation and approval processes for all transactions.
• Budget Management:
  
• Assist in developing project budgets and monitor financial progress.
• Track all project costs, identify deviations, and report discrepancies.
• Compliance & Audits:
  
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and internal controls.
• Assist in the preparation of documents for internal and external audits.
• Coordination & Communication:
  
• Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and site teams for financial clarity.
• Coordinate with vendors, clients, and banks as needed.
• Communicate project financial performance to stakeholders.
• General Accounting Duties:
  
• Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and expense allocations.
• Maintain financial records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Work with tax teams to ensure GST, TDS, and other compliance filings are up to date.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CA/ICWA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably in residential construction or real estate projects.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or similar tools).
• Strong knowledge of financial regulations, taxation (GST, TDS), and cost accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with MS Office tools.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
