Hardware Design Engineer

Designation: Hardware Design Engineer (Digital) Location: HFCL 5G Business, Bangalore Years of Experience: 5-10 years Type: Full timeWHAT YOU WILL DO:Active contribution to HFCLs 5G product innovation with HW development of 5G FWA-CPE, Radio and Transport products.JOB DESCRIPTION:You will be responsible for delivering the Hardware design of 5G FWA-CPE, Radio and Transport products, participating in product EVT,DVT, pre-compliance, certification testing & mass manufacturing. Responsibilities:

• Work involves defining Hardware Architecture based on product specifications
• Identifying the latest technologies, and using the technologies in projects / products
• Component selection based on specification, BOM cost/power optimization (Design for cost) and volume manufacturing
• Detailed Schematic Design and layout support for high quality, low power, compact, low cost and lightweight proto builds.
• SI/PI Analysis and compliance to EMI/EMC standard requirements
• Involve in Thermal analysis to meet optimum power/volume/thermal requirements
• Complete board bring-up and interface testing (EVT,DVT) using High Speed Oscilloscopes, Signal generators, Spectrum Analyzers and 5G test Equipment
• Reporting all project status to Technical lead, escalating critical issues, and seeking guidance on these issues
• Lead and guide small team of HW engineers
• Regular coordination with other specialty team members, including RF Design, Antenna design, mechanical/thermal design, firmware development, FPGA logic design, system testing, procurement/manufacturing , Pre-compliance , Test Certification and field installation.
• Perform failure analysis and incorporate findings into future revisions of the product design.
• Continuously develop and enhance product development process to effect positively on the results.
• Managing test instruments, using bug free design libraries, following the HW design process strictly
• Ensuring storage of all design data on the Share point
• Learning software tools, simulation tools to have better understanding on system.
• Requirements:
• Bachelors/Masters Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in High speed Digital design techniques
• Experience of working in Telecom / Networking domain.
• Exposure to design of FWA-CPE, Small Cell / Macro Radios, Routers would be an added advantage
• Experience in Qualcomm, NXP, MediaTek, Intel, Xilinx based Telcom products is added advantage
• Practical experience in interfaces such as DDR3/DDR4, PCIE, 1GbE / 10GbE / 25GbE , SFP / SFP+ / SFP++ / QSFP+, RGMII/SGMII/XGMII, USB 2.0/3.0, Parallel/Serial NOR/NAND/eMMC/SD Flash memories, SPI, I2C, UART, Power Over Ethernet.
• Experience in designing high speed boards involving latest Xilinx/Altera FPGAs and Multi-core packet processors.
• Experience in designing power supplies using LDOs, DC-DC Switching supplies, PoE++, Power filters for low noise and optimized power requirements.
• Knowledge of various surge protection and ESD protection circuits.
• Use of any of the Schematic design tools such as Cadense Allegro /Altium/etc involving mixed signal, analog and digital circuit design.
• Designed Multi layer PCBs, Stackup Optimisation and expertise in layout guidelines for high-speed digital circuits.
• Experience in working in RF boards would be an added advantage
• Effective use of laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, pattern/signal generators, error detectors, etc.
• Proven successful track record in product development and timely meeting of deliverables.
• Excellent communication and written skill
• Proven hands-on analytical problem solving capability with in depth technical know-how.
• Self-motivated and organized. Works well with other highly motivated driven engineers.
