Business Planning Manager - Personal Systems

Job Summary
This role supports Personal Systems in making strategic decisions, helping to ensure it stays competitive and adaptable in a rapidly changing business landscape. The role assists in developing strategic recommendations by gathering and analyzing competitive data, conducting basic analysis, and supporting the testing of hypotheses to aid in well-informed strategic decisions. The role works with cross-functional teams on projects and collaborates across different business units

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform detailed analysis of competitors products, strategies, market share, and performance
Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and market disruptions to anticipate competitive moves
Identify growth opportunities, potential competitive threats in the market, and provide competitive insights and actionable recommendations to influence PS strategy planning and decision making.
Develop future-looking scenarios, potential strategic impacts, and hypothetical market shifts to drive thought leadership and business planning
Leverage AI and machine learning techniques to enhance competitive intelligence processes and outcomes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate competitive insights into product development, marketing, and sales strategies.
Create detailed reports, visualizations, and presentations to convey competitive insights to the senior management team

Education & Experience Recommended
Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in competitive analysis, business strategy, or a related field within the PC or technology industry

Knowledge & Skills

• Deep understanding of the technology industry, market dynamics, technological advancements, and latest developments in geopolitical relations
• Financial analysis and modeling, understanding financial performance of competitors and assessing the potential impact of competitive actions
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into strategic insights. Experience in utilizing AI and machine learning for competitive analysis and strategic planning preferred
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
• Proficient with Excel and Power BI. Able to quickly organize and manipulate large sum of raw data and transform it into presentable proof points
• Ability to effectively communicate plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels, via written and verbal communication / presentations
• Clarity of thoughts - Properly framing the answer to the question/s asked.
• Secondary research/Market research
• Project management - Being able to develop a plan and schedule to complete an assigned task, managing/collaborating with others for completing a task etc.
• MS office skills : Excel/basic data analysis and charting / Presentation (PowerPoint)
• Presentation skills/executive-level insights generation (clearly putting thoughts across using slides/e mail.)
• Strategy experience (PC/Tech industry preferred, but non-PC industry can also be considered)

Good to have - not a mandate

• Financial analysis - basic reading of company balance sheet (very basic)
• Exposure to tech industry
• Current affairs -Emerging business models etc ( for eg. Basic questions like what Uber s business model (I know it s too old to ask)/WeWork//Quick commerce etc ) AI/ML, view on PC industry etc..
