Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Head of HR will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of human resources for the hospital. This role requires a strategic thinker who can create, implement, and oversee HR policies, talent acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, and compliance while fostering a positive work culture. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare HR, a strong understanding of labor laws, and a people-first approach.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Management

  1. Develop and execute the hospital's HR strategy in alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to forecast workforce needs and ensure adequate staffing.
  3. Drive initiatives to enhance employee satisfaction, retention, and organizational performance.

Talent Acquisition and Retention

  1. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training processes to attract and retain top talent.
  2. Ensure timely hiring of clinical and non-clinical staff to meet the hospital's operational needs.
  3. Design and implement employee development and career growth programs.

Employee Relations and Engagement

  1. Foster a culture of respect, collaboration, and diversity.
  2. Act as a mediator to resolve employee grievances and disputes.
  3. Plan and execute employee engagement programs to boost morale and productivity.

Compliance and Policy Development

  1. Ensure compliance with all labor laws, healthcare regulations, and HR policies.
  2. Develop and regularly update HR policies, handbooks, and SOPs.
  3. Manage payroll, employee benefits, and contracts in line with statutory requirements.

Performance Management

  1. Oversee performance appraisal systems to ensure fair evaluations.
  2. Guide managers in setting KPIs and providing constructive feedback to employees.
  3. Identify and address skill gaps through training and development initiatives.

Operational HR Management

  1. Maintain accurate employee records and manage HR data for reporting and decision-making.
  2. Collaborate with department heads to address workforce challenges and plan resource allocation.
  3. Manage disciplinary actions in a fair and lawful manner.

Preferred candidate profile



Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Masters degree in Human Resource Management, MBA (HR), or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 8–12 years of HR experience, with at least 2–4 years in a leadership role, preferably in the healthcare sector.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws and HR practices in India.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HR management software and tools.
