Firefighter (2- Vacancies) (on third party payroll)

GIFTCL invites application for the position of Firefighter - (2 -vacancies) (on third party payroll). The remuneration will be commensurate with qualification and experience.

The candidate should have done Graduation from any Govt recognized board or Institution and 1 Year ITI / Diploma (Fireman) course from any Govt recognized institute. Candidate with HMV Driving License is preferable with minimum 03 (Three) years of experience in firefighting department of any Government/ Public Sector Undertaking/ Autonomous bodies/Industrial Fire Service. Detailed job description is as under,

• Fireman shall report on duty as per assigned schedule and duty roster.
• As per assigned duties and deployment, shall check and test equipment at Fire Station, Fire Vehicles Fire store etc. In case of any discrepancies observed in appliance/equipment initiate immediate rectification measures.
• Shall actively participate in Physical trainings, Squad Drills, Fire Drills, Mock Drills and recurrent training programs to maintain physical fitness and competency development.
• Fireman deployed on Fire Vehicles, should take immediate turn out on hearing Turn-out siren.
• Fireman deployed at Fire Station should perform Sentry Duty and Control Room Operator duty as allotted. Control Room Operator should remain vigilant at Fire Station receive all phone calls and messages and disseminate the same as required.
• Perform scheduled testing and maintenance of Fire Vehicles, Fire Hydrant, Medium Velocity Water Spray System, Deluge System, Fire Water Pumps, Fire Extinguishers, Fire Bucket, Hydraulic Cutter cum Spreader, Power Saw, Pneumatic Lifting Bag, Positive Pressure Ventilation Fan, Thermal Imaging Camera, Heat Resistance Suit etc. and prepare report.
• Fireman assigned for Inspection, testing and maintenance duties must carry out testing of Fire Pumps, fire alarm system, fire extinguishers, and submit status report.
• If any fire detected or reported to him, Inform Fire control room operator and proceed to extinguish the fire with the help of suitable equipment and extinguishing media.
• Fireman shall maintain and ensure smooth functioning of the equipment and maintain good housekeeping at his workplace.
• No Fireman shall leave his duty place without handing over the proper charge to his reliever.
• Fireman to reside at GIFT City Fire station accommodation/ vicinity near to GIFT City.

Competencies Required :

• Height Minimum 165 cms., Weight Minimum 55 Kgs, Chest Normal 81 cm Expanded 85 cm. The ideal candidate should fall under normal BMI ranges.
• The job requires the fire operator to be physically agile, strong, should have good eyesight, not be colour blind, fit to work at heights.
• Must be physically fit and able to conduct strenuous duties for an extended period.
• Hands on knowledge on operation and maintenance of fire vehicles and other firefighting equipment.
• Must be able to qualify any three of the following endurance tests:

a. 1000 meters run 5 minutes

b. Roll unroll 04 (four) length of hoses each 15 meters long from the appliance 4 minutes

c. Carrying a person of approximately his own weight by the fireman lift method over 100 meters 40 second

d. Push-ups – Minimum 20 numbers continuously
