Executive Scientist/ Lead Scientist-Electrochemistry

Job Purpose

1. Testing of battery materials in Coin / Pouch cell configurations

2. Benchmarking of properties / performance with expected standards

3. Improvements to existing cell performances

Role & responsibilities

• Literature survey
• Assembly of Li / Na ion cells (coin & pouch)
• Chemical characterization
• Performance Testing of cells (Electrochemical charge/discharge, impedance, voltammetry, etc)
• Data interpretation. Timely feedback and reporting of results.
• Developing new Electrolyte formulations
• Planning and scheduling of tests and work up.
• Understanding of customer (or established) specifications and providing the materials / results for further applications.
• Compliance to IMS and GLP standards by maintaining records.
• Soft skills improvement
• Knowledge sharing meetings
• Soft skills improvement

• Keeping track of consumables
• Follow proper safety, house-keeping and GLP practices at all times.
• Risk assessment of all activities in the lab

Preferred candidate profile

• Ph. D or Post-doc (Electrochemistry / Inorganic chemistry / Physical chemistry) or M. Sc with experience of Li / Na ion batteries

Essential

• Knowledge of battery materials cathode, anode, electrolyte
• Hands-on experience with assembly and testing of Li ion cells (coin & pouch type)
• Electrochemical methods cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy, charge / discharge cycling
• Chemical analysis, Thermal analysis, spectrophotometery, etc.

Desirable

• Inorganic synthesis, especially oxides, phosphates, silicates of alkali and transition metals.
