Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Contemporary Dance Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate should have expertise in contemporary dance techniques and experience in choreographing and directing musical performances for annual day events. They will be responsible for inspiring students, developing their dance skills, and contributing to the schools performing arts program.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and conduct engaging contemporary dance lessons for students of varying skill levels.
• Choreograph and direct musical performances for the annual day and other school events.
• Teach body movement, expression, posture, and rhythm through contemporary dance techniques.
• Integrate storytelling, emotion, and stage presence into performances.
• Collaborate with music, drama, and art departments to create interdisciplinary performances.
• Organize rehearsals and ensure students are performance-ready for major school events.
• Encourage creativity, confidence, and teamwork in students.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for students to explore dance.
• Stay updated with the latest trends in contemporary dance and musical theatre choreography.

Key Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Dance, Performing Arts, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 25 years of teaching experience, preferably in an international school or performing arts institution.
• Choreography Experience: Proven track record of choreographing annual day musicals, school productions, or professional stage performances.
• Skills:
• Strong foundation in contemporary dance techniques.
• Ability to train students for stage performances and competitions.
• Understanding of musical theatre elements such as movement, timing, and coordination with music.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children and teenagers in an educational setting.
• Knowledge of other dance forms like ballet, jazz, hip-hop, or Indian classical dance is an added advantage.
• Ability to incorporate digital media and technology into dance instruction.
