IGCSE & IBDP Spanish Teacher @ Greenwood High International School

Job Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Spanish Teacher to join our international school faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality language instruction following the Cambridge IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) curricula.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and student-centered Spanish lessons for IGCSE and IBDP students.
• Develop students' listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in Spanish.
• Prepare students for IGCSE Spanish (as a First/Second Language or Foreign Language) and IBDP Spanish (Ab Initio/SL/HL) examinations.
• Design assessments in alignment with IGCSE and IB criteria, ensuring effective progress tracking.
• Implement inquiry-based and interactive teaching methodologies that support the IB philosophy.
• Foster critical thinking, intercultural awareness, and global perspectives through language learning.
• Guide students in developing their ATL (Approaches to Learning) skills for academic success.
• Collaborate with other subject teachers to integrate Spanish into interdisciplinary projects.
• Participate in IB and Cambridge training, workshops, and professional development opportunities.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff to support student learning.

Key Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Bachelors/Masters degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 25 years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB and Cambridge IGCSE school.
• Certification: IB IBDP & Cambridge IGCSE training (preferred) or willingness to undergo training.
• Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Spanish; strong English communication skills.
• Skills:
• Inquiry-based and student-centered teaching approach.
• Strong classroom management and lesson planning abilities.
• Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into teaching.
• Understanding of IB Learner Profile attributes and international-mindedness.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in differentiated instruction to support diverse learning needs.
• Familiarity with IB Extended Essay (EE) and Internal Assessments (IA) for Spanish.
• Passion for promoting intercultural competence and multilingualism.
