We are seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the Finance & Accounts function for a growing startup. This individual will be responsible for driving financial planning, reporting, risk management, fundraising, capital structure decisions, and IPO readiness. A key part of this role will involve preparing the company for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), managing investor relations, and guiding the finance team to ensure long-term financial success. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in transfer pricing, ensuring that intercompany transactions are structured efficiently and in compliance with global tax regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Financial Management:
- Head the Finance & Accounts department, overseeing a growing team of finance professionals.
- Lead and manage the complete Finance & Accounts operations, including audit, treasury, financial planning & reporting.
- Direct financial strategy and performance, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
Risk & Investment Management:
- Perform risk management by analyzing liabilities, assets, investments, and cash flow.
- Create and execute investment strategies by evaluating cash and liquidity risks.
- Evaluate and manage the organization's fundraising plans, including both equity and debt funding, and optimize the company's capital structure.
IPO Preparation & Execution:
- Lead the process of making the organization IPO-ready, ensuring all financials, operations, and compliance standards meet the expectations of regulatory bodies.
- Oversee and manage the entire IPO process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, investor communications, and regulatory compliance.
Cash Flow & Tax Strategy:
- Ensure appropriate liquidity and cash flow for smooth operations and sustainable growth.
- Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize the company's tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws, including expertise in transfer pricing and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee transfer pricing policies, ensuring proper documentation, compliance with local and international tax laws, and optimizing the tax structure for the organization.
Team Development & Technology Roadmap:
- Build and develop a strong finance team, ensuring the department is equipped with the right skills and capabilities to drive future growth.
- Oversee the adoption of financial technology to streamline processes, reporting, and operations.
Compliance & Strategic Initiatives:
- Lead efforts to ensure the organization's compliance with all legal, regulatory, and financial reporting requirements.
- Guide the strategic direction of the organization's financial operations, including investor relations, valuations, and due diligence.
- Handle investor relations and provide updates on company performance, strategy, and growth plans.
Functional Requirements:
- Industry Experience: Strong background in handling financials for FMCG, D2C & Consmuer facing company, with an emphasis on high-growth environments.
- Startup Expertise: Proven experience in a startup setting, specifically handling fundraising activities (Series B, C, D, etc.).
- IPO Experience: Must have led and executed the IPO process successfully, with hands-on experience managing due diligence, investor relations, and valuations.
- Capital Structure Management: Proven ability to manage capital structure decisions and optimize funding sources.
- Transfer Pricing Expertise: In-depth knowledge of transfer pricing regulations and the ability to manage intercompany transactions effectively across multiple jurisdictions.
- Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Deep knowledge of financial planning, reporting, data analysis, and forecasting methodologies.
- Banking & investor Relations: Experience in managing banking relationships,
- Compliance & Legal Expertise: Strong understanding of compliance requirements across legal, secretarial, and financial domains.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical ability with a business-driven mindset, capable of making strategic financial decisions in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- (CFA/CA preferred). 15+ years of experience in financial management, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role within a startup or high-growth company.
- Demonstrated success in IPO preparation and execution, including IPO roadshows and investor communications.
- Deep understanding of the financial landscape, especially in managing large-scale fundraising and capital allocation.
- Proven experience with transfer pricing and managing tax strategies related to intercompany transactions and compliance with international tax standards.
