Sr. Manager / Head Operations - Polymer Recycling

Role & responsibilities

• Lead the entire setup of the new plastic recycling plant, from the initial planning phase to full operational capacity.
• Oversee the design, construction, and commissioning of the plant, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, ensuring the plant runs efficiently and meets production targets.
• Manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and ISO certifications.
• Develop and execute a long-term strategy for plant growth and sustainability, focusing on innovation in plastic recycling technologies.
• Address and resolve technical and operational challenges with strong problem-solving skills.
• Establish and maintain effective relationships with vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve optimal plant performance.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in the plastic recycling industry

Preferred candidate profile

• Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in the recycling industry, with at least 7 years specifically in polymer/plastic recycling.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the entire process of plastic recycling, including sorting, washing, processing, and re-manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage large-scale projects and plant operations.
• Strong technical background with the ability to solve complex operational problems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ISO standards and the ability to implement and maintain ISO certifications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
