About the role
As a MEP Electrical Manager, you will oversee the design, execution and optimisation of electrical systems, ensuring compliance with standards and timelines. You will lead teams, drive cost-effective solutions and implement innovative technologies to deliver high-quality, sustainable and efficient project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
Financial strategy
Provide technical inputs for TDD projects during the business development stage to aid Go/No-Go decisions and support MEP costing during TDD
Implement cost optimization measures to control the Cost of Construction (COC) and adopt innovative technologies to improve construction efficiency
Procurement
Review engineering deliverables, including DBRs, calculations, SLDs, design drawings, tender documents, BOQs and specifications, to ensure compliance with codes and regulations while recommending cost optimisations
Drive engineering initiatives that improve business performance and optimise costs
Ensure the timely issuance of high-quality deliverables
Oversee the preparation of RFPs, PQs and consultant onboarding processes, while liaising with statutory bodies to maintain compliance
Process management
Ensure adherence to processes related to consultant appointments and project-specific conditions while identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Coordinate with planning, design, contracts and budgeting teams to finalise tenders and onboard contractors seamlessly
People management and development
Identify development needs for self and team members while fostering growth through training, education and on-the-job learning opportunities
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and skill development to achieve team and organisational goals
Functional expertise
Oversee all aspects of electrical MEP services, including lighting, power, emergency systems, renewable energy, lightning protection, EV charging, fire alarms, BMS, security, IT/data networks and audio-visual systems
Review design deliverables at all stages, ensuring optimisation, compliance with codes and standards and alignment with project objectives
Lead the development of organisational standards for electrical MEP design, research global advancements in technology and implement innovative solutions
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, coordinate MEP services and drive the adoption of BIM technology at the project level
Education
Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech) from a recognised and reputed institute
Experience
12+ years of experience in managing end-to-end MEP design with proven expertise across all MEP services
Demonstrated leadership experience in guiding and managing MEP design teams
Exposure to both consultant and developer environments is an added advantage
Relaxation of up to 2 years in experience criteria for exceptional candidates or those with a postgraduate qualification
Skills
Exceptional interpersonal and people management abilities to drive collaboration and results
Proven capability to design innovative solutions to address complex engineering challenges
