As an MEP Mechanical Manager, you will oversee the planning, design, and execution of mechanical services, ensure compliance with standards, optimise costs, manage consultant deliverables, drive innovation and coordinate cross-functional teams for project success.
Key responsibilities
Financial strategy
Provide technical inputs during Business Development stage for TDD projects to support Go-No Go decisions
Collaborate with the Costing team during TDD for MEP-related cost estimations
Implement cost optimization measures to effectively control the Cost of Construction (COC)
Identify and adopt innovative ideas and technologies for construction implementation
Procurement
Review all engineering deliverables, including DBRs, typical calculations, SLDs, design-stage drawings, tender drawings, BOQs and specifications, to ensure:
Safe engineering practices for MEP services aligned with relevant codes and regulatory compliance.
Cost optimisation recommendations on submitted deliverables
Drive engineering aspects of initiatives to enhance business performance and reduce costs
Ensure timely delivery of high-quality engineering deliverables
Prepare RFPs for consultant onboarding and prequalification criteria for consultants, assisting the C&P team with process adherence
Finalise competent consultants for geotechnical investigations, engineering and external peer reviews with Head Office team inputs
Liaise with statutory bodies for compliance and approvals
Process management
Ensure adherence to and implementation of processes for:
Consultant appointments
Project-specific conditions and deviations
Identify and recommend process improvement ideas to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and improve productivity
Undertake process improvement activities within the work area
Coordinate with planning teams to understand project requirements
Collaborate with design, contracts, and C&B teams for tender finalisation and contractor onboarding
People management and development
Identify skill development needs for self and team members
Facilitate learning and growth through training, education and on-the-job learning opportunities
