Instrumentation Engineer / Senior Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Field Instrumentation:
• Design, install, and maintain field instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, flow meters, level controllers, and actuators.
• Perform calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of field instruments to ensure optimal performance and accuracy.
• Integrate field instruments with control systems like PLC, SCADA, and DCS for efficient data acquisition and system operation.
• Conduct loop checking, signal validation, and commissioning activities to ensure seamless functionality.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules to minimize system downtime and ensure long-term reliability.

• Control Systems Management:
• Design, configure, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
• Optimize control logic for efficient system operations and ensure accurate data acquisition from field instruments.
• Implement Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for complex automation processes, ensuring seamless coordination with field devices.

• I/O Systems:
• Plan, configure, and commission Input/Output (I/O) systems to establish robust communication between field devices and central control systems.
• Analyze and troubleshoot I/O mapping issues to maintain system integrity.

• Project Execution:
• Participate in the end-to-end execution of instrumentation projects, including planning, design, installation, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met within budget and deadlines.

• Documentation and Compliance:
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation such as wiring diagrams, loop diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Ensure all instrumentation systems comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.

• Continuous Improvement:
• Analyze operational data to identify areas for improvement in instrumentation performance and system reliability.
• Stay updated on advancements in field instrumentation, automation technologies, and industry best practices.

• Qualifications and Skills
• Education: Bachelors/Masters degree in Instrumentation Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 4 - 8 years of hands-on experience in field instrumentation and control systems.

• Technical Expertise:
• Comprehensive knowledge of field instrumentation, including calibration, testing, and maintenance.
• Proficiency in PLC (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.), SCADA, and DCS systems.
• Expertise in I/O systems, signal processing, and data communication protocols.
• Project Skills: Experience in instrumentation projects or project-related activities is highly desirable.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

• Certified Automation Professional (CAP)

• Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) Certification
