Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced General Accounting Specialist with 6+ years of experience to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in journal entries, financial statements, and budgeting. This position will focus on managing the general accounting functions for the organization, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and supporting budgeting processes.

Responsibilities:

• Journal Entries: Prepare, review, and post journal entries accurately and in a timely manner.
• Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Budgeting: Assist in the development and tracking of budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and analysis of financial performance.
• Reconciliations: Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Reporting: Prepare and assist with financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders, management, and external auditors.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance requirements, including tax filings and audits.
• Process Improvement: Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline accounting operations and enhance financial reporting.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as finance, operations, and audit teams, to resolve accounting-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum of 6 years of experience in general accounting, with a strong background in journal entries, financial statements, and budgeting.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar), and strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to work with complex data, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and journal entries.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess financial data and make informed decisions.
• Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations (GAAP, IFRS).
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting tools.
• Prior experience in a contract-based or project-based accounting environment.
