Job Description

Role & responsibilities:

  1. Preparing and lodging Income Tax Returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, companies, and self-managed super funds (SMSFs).
  2. Preparing and submitting Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS) for GST and PAYG compliance.
  3. Ensuring accurate reporting of Taxable Payments Annual Reports (TPAR) for contractors in relevant industries.
  4. Managing compliance with Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) obligations, including calculations and lodgments.
  5. Handling Capital Gains Tax (CGT) reporting and calculations for asset disposals.
  6. Providing guidance on Division 7A compliance for loans and distributions in private companies.
  7. Advising clients on superannuation contributions and tax-effective retirement planning.
  8. In depth knowledge of Tax software, Xero, XPM etc.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Ability to meet deadlines and cope with pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate initiative, influence and problem-solving skills.
  • Friendly and able to converse with people at any level.
  • High sensitivity and awareness of working with people of many cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to act as a coach / guide / mentor for the leadership team & managers.
  • Effective team management and development skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, deductive reasoning, inductive reasoning and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management skills, particularly with respect to organization, prioritization, and time management.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, risk and changing direction of projects and strategies

Qualifications:

  • Fluent in English
  • Bachelors or masters degree in Accounting & Tax, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Proactive and adaptable to changing client needs and deadlines.
  • Collaborative, with a focus on continuous improvement and learning.
