Job Description

The Sr Specialist, Communications is both a key writer and content generator for the organization drafting news articles, emails, newsletters, blogs, social posts, video scripts and more in support of primarily internal and secondarily external audiences across Giant Eagles global footprint, and a driver of business initiatives through thoughtful and strategic communications

Job Description

Experience Required: 3 to 7 years of communications

Experience Desired: C orporate environment in support of a retail brand

Education Desired: Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, English, Marketing or related field

Job Responsibilities

Impeccable written and verbal communications skills with the ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand, engaging communication material for a variety of channels and target audiences

The ability to engage with business unit leaders to independently identify newsworthy stories and draft engaging, business-specific content to support business efforts

Plan, draft, and execute operational, strategic, and inspirational communications and assets for both internal audiences and to support external communications efforts

This may include involvement in video/photo creation and the coordination of company video and photography shoots

Support the planning and execution of Executive Leadership Meetings, Town Hall meetings, webcasts, etc Understand channel strategy and purpose and leverage as appropriate based on content/message, audience, and intended outcome

With oversight from Sr Manager, Public Relations and input from Sr

Manager, Internal Communications support the drafting and successful execution of communications plans and strategies, to include target audience, timelines, key messaging, content, etc Proven, proactive approach to project management, including the coordination of internal stakeholder approvals

Strong creative energy and a flexible, proactive approach to problem solving

Support the overall efforts of the Corporate Affairs department, as needed
